no its not a government requirment in any country to have the 155mph restictor on, but as someone said its a gentlemans agreement. You can have them removed and its not illegal to do so. I think they do it so its basically a level playing field as far as top speed goes.
As for the M6, i don't really like it but i'll wait til the official pics come. I prefer the M4
