It looks like a costum strat with a neck trough body design but with a gibson neck.

that is a real nice body shape same to the 'soul power' strat guitar used by tom morello.

Tin Pan Ally is an amazing song. but everyime i listen to it i don't see SRV i see hendrix sitting in an empty bar just jammin. (i guess that is where SRV got it from, he said hendrix used to come to him in is dreams and feed him riffs, kinda messed up)
I have a hard time liking SRV's final album as much as his barage of music before his sober/clean phase. It cleaned up a lot; was still soulful.. but it didn't have the lightning that it once did.

about SRV having dreams/visions of Jimi... well, i don't think there is anybody even today who could play Jimi like Stevie did... alghough some guys do very well.... Yngwie does a great job; but never has a jimi voice in those songs; John Fruciante does a great job.... again, the voice issue... and then there is KWS; who had the lead singer til that separated..... just the wrong EQ/levels

some other good blues to look into is RL Burnside.... the master of slide electric blues... freekin great!

Burnside is legend (in the same boat as robert johnson, john lee hooker amazing songs with alot of influential bits just a little faster and it is amazing ie Zeppelin).

duane allman's slide guitar rocks.
