Default GT4 Tuning Challenge..

I don't think I would still be playing Gran Turismo if there weren't so many cars and the ability to tune them to your own personal setup..

Let's see who make (and drive) the best car on different tracks, but with the same cars and tuning limitations..

If anybody still actually plays Gran Turismo, give this a shot..

CAR: Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 (sold as a new car)

TRACK: Tsukuba Circuit (Practice)

The only rules are, you cannot use any tires "better" or softer than Racing Hard.. but anything else goes, wings, nos, etc..

and of course, NO traction control or stability control.

My current time is '51.656.. it's definitely beatable

OK...I spent about 15 minutes messing around, buying the RX7 etc...got down to a 48.991 with NOS and a 51.174 without.

i'm getting the same times

though i could probably get it to the mid 48's with some practice.

this isn't the the best track for tuning though. for that you want a long bumpy course (where small differences will make a big dent in the times).

like the mountain courses, nuburgring and lemans.

Feel free to post up your own "tuning challenge" with your own pick of track and cars

do i smell a chalenge here?

edit:

ok... for the brave ones out there.

Corvette zo6 (colour of choice)

tractional and stability controls systems off.
oil change with no wing mod.
soft racing tire
all mods MINUS the following:

super charger
N/A tuning (not including computer chip, port polish and engine balancing)
weight decrease

DEEP FOREST RACEWAY!

the idea here is to eliminate the inherent oversteer of the car while keeping good weight distribution for the slower corners.

all while acheiving good damping rates for the ondulating high speed corners.

good luck!

for the above settings:

15.6 was my average time STOCK mod settings.

15.1 was my average time TUNED mod settings.

with aerodymamics the difference in time would probably be around .15-.2
