Autobild: BMW M5 vs 911 Carrera S
http://www.m5board.com/vbullet...48091
Porsche wins by 244 points vs 237 points.
Porsche better handling, bmw faster and better comfort.
Both cars 0-100km/h in 4.7 sec
0-200km/h for M5 13.5 sec (e55 stand no chance to 200km/h, 13.5 sec is freaking fast).
0-200km/h for Carrera S is 16.1 sec
60-100km/h
M5 2 sec
Carrera 2.5 sec
80-120km/h
M5 2.4 sec
Carrera 3.1 sec
This is the ultimate garage for me, one M5 and one 911 Carrera S

Apparently the mainreason for the lost for M5 is cause of the high fuelconsumption, do owners really care about such things?

It's a good question. Personally I believe that it's probably the Porsche 997 Carrera S. On this subject, somebody knows if TOP GEAR will test the BMW E60 M5 this season?

Considering they have the power to get hold of an enzo and CGT, etc, if they dont test one I will be very surprised!!

On Nurnburing I think it will be close.
BMW saying 7.55 min for M5 and porsche says the same time fore 911 S.
I believe on big tracks with many straiglines it can be close but smaller tracks Porsche will be faster. The bimmer weight too much to compete against smaller cars but put in a E55 and RS6 we all know who the winner would be

I think Porsche is a very very good car but you can't compare it with a 507 hp BMW!!!!
It has 152 hp less!!
I love Porsches more than BMWs!!!
BMW only has 3 or 4 sporty models!!
Porsche 997 Carrera S for ever!!!!

Pilone,if you have wife and children the M5 is perfect, for trackmeetings and I want to be alone I go with the 911 S.
This is my ultimate garage at the moment

Yeah, that would be a wicked combo.
(And maybe throw in a radical SR4 on the side )
