Worth looking at the Samsung range as well.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Samsung/

What about the Samsung Digimax 370, the Samsung Digimax A50 or the Samsung Digimax V50.

I think the price of these will vary between 200 and 300€

Good luck with it

Cheers

I always liked the Canon SD Series which I believe is the IXUS Series around the world. It has good capabilities and small enough that you could pocket.

I was always into Canon. I was using Powershot line and today already old model A40. but today you can buy good machine for that price. as I was comparing pics from my old canon and finepix or mju, the canon was way better! I would go for canon - they are still on the top of the quality 8)

The A Series is definitely nice, but then it is not as pocketable as the SD Series.
