Why doesnt Peugeot/Ford/Citroën make street legal rally car

Yes, you are right number1, I remember last year marcus gronholm had a bent rim while trying to make it to the service park from the last stage and the cops pulled him over, so indeed the cars need to be roadworthy to get to the following stage, they even have number plates which means that they are indeed roadlegal

And there was the incident in Rally GB a year or two ago, where the drivers got done for speeding by the police :roll:

It would be great if there is a larger market of EVO/Sti cars. Hopefully will the next hot Focus a real WRC-based car with 300bhp and 4wd like they've already promised with the Focus RS.

It isn't actually going to be WRC based, just a road to semi-rally conversion. It will not be as harsh as the WRC, but it will be substantially more powreful, and raw than the current RS.

Here in Belgium the police makes a game of it to place speed traps between the special stages to squeeze some money out of the rally drivers. I remember one driver who lost his driving license for speeding between to special stages. And if I remember correctly he wasn't allowed to drive anymore even on the special stages, so his codriver had tot take the wheel. I don't know why... maybe you have to have a valid driving license to enter a rally, so if you lose it, you aren't allowed anymore to drive the rally.

Well I though also they didn't need a driving license for the special stages, cause it are closed roads. Than there had been another reason why the codriver took the wheel during the special stage.

the point its that the rally car has to be a road legal car in drive between stages which are open road......and if a driver doesnt have the driving license or the age.....such as Hirvonen before 18, and Latvala as well....the codriver has to be the driving license in order to be driven the car between the stages

I remember that RAC race in 1998.....and its exactly version that you said....about my favourite car ever.....although its one of the first cars launched on the market since the existance of the group A, i love most this car still.......the ford sierra rs cosworth in any original colour(the black, the blue or the white)........there you go some pics that ive got on my pc

lol...i did understand the topic in a clear way and thats why i put the sierra as my favourite one, otherwise id put the delta S4 or the Maxi Turbo...anyway.....the reason that i put the group B cars alongside the Group A its that...while i was transferring the sierra and the deltona pics to this section, i got the maxiturbo and the 205 pics alongside them on my pc, as a result and i couldnt resist leaving the Group B pics on my computer without sending them.....

Finally...if we start talking about the amount of fines that any driver get during the rallying days....we wont finish this conversation for about 4 years
