If the original GTO was better than Ferrari in most respects back then, why can't pontiac build a new GTO that is better than most of todays Ferraris. I think they should shelve the name until they can build a better car that deserves it.

Kinda ticked me off, since they never reveiwed the Ferrari. Talk about journalistic intigrity.

that's sad that the GTO can't go quicker then that.....espcially for the power it makes. It's going to be just as fast as the Mustang GT and the current Mach 1. Kinda sad since it's got 50 more bhp and 50 more ft-lbs. I'd say high 13's low 14's is weak for a 350hp/365ft-lbs RWD vehicle.

Most Mustang GTs are in the mid-high 14s stock arent they? 13s arent bad. Corvettes are in the 13s.

the mustang GT doesnt have as much horsepower, so for the GTO to be running those times is horrible.

ummmmm any stock 99+ GT should be from 14.1-14.4 in stock form. I ran 14.1 completely stock. A Mach 1 should be running from 13.6-13.8 in stock form.

the gto is cool and all, but they may have just released it as the holden monero.... it doesnt do pontiac, or car lovers justice to say its the new gto when its another car...... kinda like having a land rover become the basis of a new bronco... its hypocracy. just my opionion
and, the holden..... ahem, gto will compete with the svt stang as far as aftermarket performance. the 5.7L shortblock is extraordinary for tuning, as is the great stang cobra. at least the us has some muscle wars again that are affordable!
