Default What I Drive - Mini!

Hello, I'm brand new.

Saw this site advertised on a top gear video, so I thought I'd check it out.
I'm from Adelaide, South Australia, and we can't watch top gear over here, so I've had to resort to downloading bits of episodes.

Anyways, I drive a 1968 Morris Mini Deluxe. I've upgraded it to discs and 12" rims just last week, looks a lot better now.

Here's some pics, sorry if they don't load quickly .

New wheels:

On the track:

This is what I used to drive, before I decided it was cheaper to race a mini!

Anyway, thats me!

HEHEHE Of course always great to see another mini owner on JW 8) Fantastic one too, real classic minis from that era are getting rarer and rarer in that kind of condition. I really love the mk 1 grille and surround and your right about the 12 inch minilite rims they look really nice and are the next mod on my list Also great to see you race it too, i'm not quite brave enough yet cos if i crash it i have no way to get to uni
Congrats and welcome to JW stick around and you'll love it here

Thanks for the support guys.

It's funny how my 35+ year old, 38 HP mini gets more looks/attention than my 200+ HP Z ever got. The mini is more fun to drive too, and the seats in the back are bigger .

I don't have any idea how many km's it's got on it. It's all in miles, and its got about 90,000 on the speedo, but I don't know if thats 190,000, 290,000 or what!

Next on the mods list is some shockers and maybe a sway bar. We'll see how it goes at the track. The plan is to do a mod, take it out to the track and see how it goes before doing any more mods to it. I'm about to join the local modified mini club so we'll see how that goes.

Further on down the track I'd like to put a supercharger on the 998. There's a supercharged mini running around our local racetrack and I watched it gain on a turbo FC RX7 down the straight, it was awesome.

I'm a bit of an hobby photographer, and I love taking photo's of cars, so hopefully I can contribute some nice shots soon.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Hopefully at some point, I'll even be able to download some movies and stuff!

IMO, not a chance.. What makes a mini a mini is the size.. the new one is pretty big.. and not that much space in it anyway.. The old one attracts more attention than the new one. And it also get the girls.. .

Great car mate. I love it. Keep it beautiful!

More pictures are always welcome. If you could make a wallapaper sized and quality picture that would be great. I always wanted a nice mini desktop.

I doubt the old one will be running in 40 years, despite the fact that its probably a lot better made.

The original mini is still running because its so damn simple. No crazy electrical system to go wrong, and 5 million or so were sold, so there's lots of bits around to fix them. The new one is too expensive to ever sell in those numbers, even tho its an excellent car.

I'll have to give my car a wash and take some photos of it in some nice light for you guys.

Next time I take it out to the track I'll stick the camcorder in it as well.

i've heard of a few supercharged minis (in mini magazines etc) but never seen one in action i'm guessing they might be quite prone to blowing up though lets hope not!

**EDIT** and
