Went to the track for the first time. What do you guys think
Took my C5 to the 1/4 mile track for the first time. It was the first time at the track for me as well.
I was really nervous and didn't know what to do or anything.
1st run. Ran against a CRX. he ran a 16.281 @ 85.34
my slip
R/T = .590
60' = 2.101
330 = 5.662
1/8 = 8.518
MPH = 87.11
1000 = 10.946
1/4 = 12.993
MPH = 110.10
2nd race. Ran agains an 03 cobra vert.
Missed 3rd gear and ran 14.113 @ 94.15
something went wrong with the cobra as well and he ran 15.468 @ 93.99
3rd race. ran against a 350z.
he ran a 14.885 @ 83.54
R/T = .251
60' = 2.006
330 = 5.446
1/8 = 8.317
MPH = 87.18
1000 = 10.749
1/4 = 12.795
MPH = 109.91
What do you guys think for my first time out????
Man I had a bunch of fun.

going to the strip is always a blast, and i believe your slips would appear to be quite similar to mag tested times, and a bit faster then ive ever accellerated

some people love thier cars, and want to find out how they do at the strip. i think its just fine he went 'fast' legally. so hes not so quick, at least it draws an interest at what can happen (not to mention the shear quantity of massive v8's killing sub 13' times )
hell, lots of people even do it in thier shitty cars/trucks etc.

did you go to Great Lakes in Union Grove?
Gonna take a buddies car up there in a few weeks hopefully once he gets his engine and we can get it in.
I drove my friends Roush 360R and ran a low 12 a few years back.

Well some people go there and see how the car performs before they start to modify it like my buddy with his Camaro got a 13.9 from a mildly modified V6 and now he ordered a bulletproofed C5 engine stroked to 383 and Supercharged so we are expecting some great improvements.

the engine had a Ram air setup with larger throttle body and MAFS, New plugs and wires, Underdrive Pulleys, full straight pipe exhaust and he has new gears in the rear end but I'm not sure what they are, also he has the rear seat delete that cuts a good amount of weight.. But at the moment there is no engine at all So we could probably Flinstone it to a 1 minute 1/4 (pretty light without a drivetrain)

3rd race. ran against a 350z.
he ran a 14.885 @ 83.54
|
not bad. could use a little fine tuning on his driving skills. with a skilled driver that car should pull a low 14.
when car and driver tested it, it came in at 14.3 and the boxterS they ran it against hit a 14 flat or a 14.1 (sorry, had to defend my Z's )
Your two good runs look consistent, thats always a good thing. that 2nd run probably would have been on par with the others if you had hit 3rd right. Nice job
