Default The Beast (ram van)

A few days before I sold the Talon, a buddy of mine offered me his dad’s work van as a gift (cough cough tax write off cough cough) so the offer was too good to pass up.
Its beastly, but it’ll get me through the winter and I’ll buy something nice again in the spring.

The Specs:
Dodge Ram Van 2500
5.9 liter magnum V-8
Automatic transmission
6010 lb. GVW
About 14mpg (Yikes! But it was free….)
Its been a lot of fun sliding around the parking lot at work, but its not too bad on the road.

The custom shots. Sorry I don’t have the manual.

Heres a shot with by buddy’s ’71 Opel GT for a size comparison hahaha

I decided to state the obvious hahaha.

And last but not least, heres the light switch I rigged up as the defrost control…I needed a relay and this was in the garage at the moment and most importantly, it was free hahaha

Haha, you need to jump that thing off a ramp!

...And film it and post it on JW.

That's one ride that is begging to be pimped!

You'd get a lovely aquarium in the back of that, you would <nods>

I think I've got some shag pile carpet in the garage if you want it

eh...sorta. i got a fair amount for it, but i had put some money into it you're right, hahaha

but yeah it does do a decent burnout, but i've put new tires on a few weeks ago so i've refrained from it...
its real torque-y but you can definitely tell the horsepower doesnt catch up with the torque.
i dont stomp on it too hard often but it pulls when i need it to. more than enough passing power..

oh yeah i forgot;

35 gallon tank!!! got gas this morning, but i can go for about two weeks without filling if i needed to hahaha

Heres my friend’s Opel;
Shes a real sweet car, not something you see every day.
Hes a real big Opel guy and this is just one of several he owns. Among the others s is a ’72 Manta and a few other GTs. Its so small hahaha

If anyone is familiar with the GT’s, they know about the flip-over head lights but the first time I saw them in action I was amazed hahaha, it puts pop-up lights to shame.

I believe it’s the 1.6 liter engine. (I know its not the 1.1 liter, that’s in one of the parts cars haha.) Hes got a Schneider Racing Cam installed, the idle sounds soooo lopey haha.
After it warms up its nearly stalls, but its great on the top end. Pretty quick car. I’ve seen it surprise more than a few ricers, quickness and handling-wise.
