Default DVD+RW

Hey,

I'm thinking about investing in a DVD burner and I just wanted your opinions on which is a good one. Right now, I'm shooting for the Sony 4x Dual Writer (DRU-510A) which is about 109$ after a $60 dollar rebate at Office Depot! This is an awesome deal. The rebate offer ends on 12/27. If anyone has a burner and can talk about their experiences, that would be awesome.

I have an LG SuperDrive. It was cheap and seems to burn everything just fine.

get the Sony I have one on my computer and my dad has one on two of his computers.I recommend them alot the sony drives are one of few that do +/- most do one or the other.
BTW: ours are all DRU530A but I imagine the others are just as good. two of which came in VAIO pc's. Still very good value.

My Sony's burn at 8x also and they cost about $10 less than your plextor and they are a TechTV award winner. It looks better too.

I recommend the TDK Indi DVD 8x+/8x- Multiformat. I happen to trust TDK and their drives. You can also get the 4x if u want. Its about 150 bucks. They have good tech service as well and if anything goes bad within the warranty, they'll get u a new one right away.

For people that already have a DVD-ROM and want to buy a DVD burner, check this link before buying dvd discs to ensure that they are compatible with ur dvd-rom. This is because there are + and - Blank DVDS.
