Default Hammond to get new kids TV show

Not sure if this is old or not but just received this in an email.

Richard Hammond’s Science Show is based in the surreal, and fictional, world of Hammond’s top secret underground laboratory, and each show the studio audience will come and support two teams of contestants, who will carry out a series of amazing experiments and messy challenges!!!

Wikipedia says nothing. It must be new. I'm not surprised, given Hammond often hosts odd shows. This seems right up his alley.

Pretty soon, the British Empire will collapse under the weight of Hammond over-exposure.

Does he have an actual scientific background? As a kid I always prefered and learned more from shows hosted by actual scientists, naturalists and experts - not some hyper celeb.

It looks like you don't have kids ?
With the zillion programs addressed at them, kids often choose based on such relevant topics as the music or the face of the presenter. Sadly the contents or the solid knowledge of the presenter are rarely the principal aspects considered in many shows of this kind.

Richard Hammond’s Science Show

I have a 10 year old -and can tell you that the science based programs really do need to have some basis in fact and skill in the presenter for kids to key in to them - if he isnt spot on with his facts and content he will lose - children are NOT stupid.

Fantasy and kindergarten shows such as Dora and Blues Clues and Postman Pat etc re way different to Bill Nye the Science guy et al
