senna in lewis's car now that would be somthing,he shouldnt compare himself to senna he still doesnt have the experience, put lewis in a redbull he;d lose, best team doesnt necessarily have the best driver does it?,jim clark, seppi, moss, senna and jackie stewart etc..werent as arrogant ,im suprised he compaired himself i think less of him now,
also has anyone here ever done research on senna ,away from the track he was diffrent and gave money to others less fortunate ,was couragious and caring ,while lewis is skilled on the track his off track comments are weak /arrogant ,i bet when he was younger he got everything daddy can i.have..etc etc what a jerk ,and yes im from the uk and no im not really a senna fan

what he has done so far in his career scares some people he reminds me of the drivers of the 60s and 70s rock stars showing up to red carpet events expressing himself he has already proved his greatness behind the wheel i just wonder how many complaints there would be if he was behind the wheel of a certain ARROGANT HORSE there are so many ferrari fans that got use shumi winning anything and everything that if anybody else wins they try to find anything to complain about. dont get me wrong i love ferrari i love racing and i love competetive racing just that alot of ferrari fans are arrogant and ignorant towards anybody else winning in f1

Proud of ourselves? Wha?
Lewis didn't kamikaze into a stationary car, or clip a wall for once? Is that what you mean? Seriously though, I'm stoked for him to win in front of a home crowd, that's great! Good to see his fan-boy club resurgence as well

Made some fair points though. I'd agree that Schumacher himself was quite arrogant on the track and a lot of his fans were too. However, he seemed like a nice guy off the track. I disagree though, that Hamilton has 'proved his greatness'. He's good, but not good enough to act like he's the best, because he ain't.

a year and a half into his career who has done more with that time. he is one of those greats that come through racing only once in a while. people cant see that yet and have to wait until his career is over before they realize how amazing some of these drives have been in his rookie and sophmore years.

Arrogant and skills doesn't need to come hand in hand. That's all that we are saying. I don't think anyone here is denying his achievements regardless of how good the Mclaren is in recent years (from how well he fend off his teammates).

Y compare him with F1 Legends when he's still only a rookie. Yes, he has broken a few records. Nonetheless, he's still no WDC yet, nevermind several WDCs to whom he is compared to. Button has been enjoying relatively successful early years, look where he is now.

I never able to understand Pokiou, we are discussing arrogance, and have no clue how winning the British GP will prove anyone wrong regarding that.

^Another fair point. I enjoy watching F1 and Hamilton is a part of that because he is good, but I still don't have to like the guy. I still think he's aloof.

Damn right I am enjoying F1 right now.

But what's the fun if everything is what it is? Why do you think people even buy magazines or surf the web to read about the private life of celebrities if all we should care is how they act/sing/write... ? It's part of our life, topics we talk with a beer on our hands. Chit chats.

It's not like we are losing sleep over things like this, but this is stuff we debate on a forum.

ya know, I'm of the opinion that Hamilton is a super nice guy! Seeing him on Top Gear and listening to him speak on BBC before the F1 races gave me a new respect for him as compared to last year when I knew nothing about him and just watched him race. I don't know much about the quote about comparing himself to Senna, but I look at it this way. The media is ALWAYS going to make a big deal out of mistakes and goof ups. So maybe he mis-spoke or got a little over excited and said something he shouldn't have. But 9 out of 10 times, he's speaking like a humble, mature, F1 driver. He's not bad mouthing other drivers or intentionally causing problems for other drivers. I don't like McLaren, but I have the utmost respect for LH. He shows a lot more emotion than Kimi and I appreciate that too. Gives you something to connect with, and feel closer to the sport.

yes he is arrogant, he has been silver spoon fed to believe he is the best thing since slice bread - unfortunately they didnt give him any training on how to be humble and respectfull.

it's a shame reallly
