i was thinking about the time. maybe like a F1 race they start at Pit exit, but the lap ends at Pits entrance.

that is how it is run on public days, but when setting production car records, it includes that final straight with the start-finish line.

Are you saying they start and end on the front straight for official lap times?

official lap times are timed near the end of the pit straight. The beginning is timed correctly, the finish is timed incorrectly. Check the youtube video and you'll see what I mean.
the lap start is at about 1:08 into it.

Here is my only discrepancy, if Sport Auto do their lap times like they did with this Pagani F and the time starts and ends where the camera is then that time is much faster than it should be since they had a running start on the long straight compared to this low mph turn with the GT-R. I'm just trying to figure this out.

i wonder if it will be as easily tuned as the previous skyline gtrs with their rb straight sixes...i hope so

that isn't where the timing for a lap takes place... but, the car does do a 7:32... just some clever editing on where to put it... at v-max

I think the ferrari 430 and the porsche 997 tt owners will huge problem because this wil kick their rich ass.
And that is the stock will until the tuners get their hands on this car than it will kick even more ass.

I really don't think the new lancer evo 10 will be on the same page as the gtr.

The time is under discussion and dispute - the "test car" used hand-cut slick tyres and it is most likely that the lap was done by the $95,000 EVO version of this car.

I've read the GTR with 470 hp or whatever will be stateside next June at a price around 70-80 thousand.

stock times are gonna be up to 20 seconds more (which is ALOT). Other carmakers generally do not use cut slick tires...unless the production car comes with em...
but even the developer of the car states:
We only got three full laps and no one was timing us, so you’ll just have to assume we set the lap record. Earlier, Mizuno-san had offered some lap times from the Nordschliefe for various cars driven by the German magazine SportAuto. Those times are driver-dependent, track-knowledge-dependent, weather-, traffic- and bunny-crossing-the-track dependent. But Mizuno suggested the GT-R could get anywhere from 7:44 on up, with most laps coming in between 7:55 and 7:58. So he suggested the GT-R’s strong suit was that it offered “the best cost per lap time.” For whatever that’s worth.
