My sequence:
1. Range
2. X5
......
......
8. ML
Note that the X5s in the pix are before-lifting models!!
And the Range Rover pix don't work (at least for me...).
Say hi to your girlfriend.

Thinking about it, the Range Rover is the only way to go, it is simply the King. The X5, is a good car, but it is not in the same class. I would not touch the ML with a barge pole!
Also, the Range Rover, is amazing off road too! Although I doubt she would find out its abilities!

Considering you are buying it for a woman, you go to get the Merc. CHicks for a thing for Mercs.

Your gf might choke on the bills required to run the Rangie (something like 13 mpg?) and the X5 4.4i (not much better at almost 20 mpg). I wouldnt touch a M-class with a ten foot barge poll either. THe X5 3.0d would make the most sensible choice, especially when it comes to visits to the fuel pumps, as well as residual values. And it's an X5, which means it should be a blast to drive in comparision to the top heavy Rangie and the 'dont hustle me or i'll understeer into the hedges' ML. I'd wait for thr face-lifted X5. If money were no object though, i'd recommend the new X5 4.4i, which will run the 4.4 litre Valvetronic V8 from the 7 series. 333Bhp!

A 1990 Ford Aerostar? LoL. WHile you;re at it, why not a Citreon 2CV? Or Fiat Bambino? Hehe. BUt yeah, Don, if you want your gf to be as safre as possible, then an RR would do it. nobody would dare crash into her.

Hahah BMWfreak.... That never crossed my mind. The thing that amazes me is you guys aren't fond of the x5. Why is that so? I have driven it, and liked it. I am scheduled for a testdrive in the RR tomorrow, so maybe tomorrow I know why almost all of you prefer the RR.
