Well...sadly...I was expecting more out of the XKR and unfortunately it hasn't lived up to the hype as well as I would've hoped. The fact that it's fairly noticeably slower than the Maserati Gransport is a bit of disappointment. That having been said, it's not THAT much slower than the Gransport, nor the DB9. If and when the XKR-R or whatever they've decided to call it comes out, I'll be interested to see how it stacks up.

The performance figures are below my expectation; I'd expected something much more aggressive than the its in house rival AMV8 but the Vantage seems taking the advantage look and performance, especially that a mouth-watering 175MPH roadster edition of it was just launched earlier on this week. wonder why no body posted anything about it yet!!

I actually thought the XKR would do worse, i thought it would do 8:30, so this 'Ring times surpasses my goals by 5 seconds, however having said that, as you said it's not exactly the most sporty car ever. However what is interesting is that when the V8 Vantage was tested around the Nurburgring it was running on the optional Pirelli sport tyres and it achieved 8:03. With the standard Bridgestone tyres Sport Auto recorded a lap of 8:13.

jorge, TopGearNL,

You're welcome
