That's a lot of freaking time (and money) spent on a motor.

So how come nobody says "What a stupid pointless waste of time...?"
I looked over that thread and the car seems like it is going to be a one of SEMA Ricer Show Car.
Now back to the engine/car combo.
Talkk about good money after bad, these SUpra fools are spending Ferrari/Lamborghini tuning dollars on engine parts for nothing more than a show car?
Almost $40,000 for an engine swap? They have not even touched the rest of the car it seems.. for $40,000 you can send you 996 to RUF AutoCenter in Dallas and have a world class tuner turn your car into a handling and pumped up compotent tuner car... (dont even get me started on what $40,000 would get you for a Corvette )
But the point is are these "import fanatics" this blind?
Their cars are heavy, ugly, riced up and barely more than trailer and dyno queens.
Oh well, to each their own..

*sigh* cool swap. I appreciate the work of the builder, and the effort of the swap.

pffffft no way man the 4.7 is good stuffz but nothing compared to the 2JZ
|
Seriously, the 2JZ is such a competent motor. There's no need to swap it unless it's for show.

The 2jz gte is one hell of a engine.
Most current 6 bangers are only half as good.

Road course driving? That's not track driving? Supras are not really track cars as far as I know, but they show their best on a straight line. Or am I totally wrong?
|
You are wrong again .
Here example of supra prepped for road course driving.

Here is a road race supra

I supra can be a very good track car if setup right.
Here is the road race supra in action.
