Cheap/good digi camera?

LOL. I did the same thing...well I was going to get the Nvidia FX5200....but I thought to myself and read some reviews and paid more and got a ATI Radeon 9600 PRO. works great with everything and no problems. good example.

hay TT i got a question...
i know that bigger MP is bigger size but does it also mean better quality? ive been wondering how do u know it has better quiality cause i was thinking i thin k i care more about quality than 3000 something size pics, i would never use a pic that big...\thanks

Since TT doesnt seem to be around, I'll answer this the best I can and TT can correct me later. What do you mean by better Quality? As in the space on the memory card? Well anyways, if thats what you mean, pictures with higher resolution take up more diskspace because of the size. Although a camera can have a high MP, it doesnt mean that the resolution will always be big. You can always change the size to make it smaller therefore increasing your quantity size. I hope this made sense...if it didnt I'll reword it later.

Oh, and the camera has enough bulk to it to giveyou something to hold onto - helping reduce camera shake.

by quality i meant image quality, im a bit confused.. does bigger pics mean better image quelity, cause i dont think so but im not sure, im mean like instead of having the 8MP having a smaller MP camera but with the same image quality as the pics that TT poated...

Quality of image is dependant on number of pixels in the image.

So - an image that is 3800 pixels wide is higher detail that the same picture 1200 pixels wide.

Armans,

Bought myself a Canon A70 some 10 weeks ago and I'm really pleased with it.
Parked some of the pics I took here:

It is a 3.2 megapixel cam, dead easy to handle with a CF memory cards (16Mb standard) and simple penlight batteries for power (got myself 2 sets 2100 mAh NiMH rechargeables)
Paid EUR 230.00 (imcl VAT) for the A70.

About quality, yes, bigger means better someway if you want to print an image shoot at 1600 and one shoot at 3200 wide, I'm sure you will spot the difference. And usually when you resize down a BIG image for the net, the result is better if the image was big. Then of course in most cameras you have also some "quality" setting. I shoot all my pics in "good" not "super good" because this way my 256 MB mem card can handle around 120 pics

I just recently bought myself a Fuji Finepix A607 for $AU 349 (~EUR 204), which has a 3.1MP CCD and 3x optical zoom. However, Fuji uses something it calls a Super CCD and therefore effectively increases the number of MP to around 6 (thats what they say anyway ). On the highest setting pics are taken in 2816x2120 resolution. The camera is more than good enough for my needs, which are basically just everyday photos (family, scenery) and of course cars.

i got Canon A80 since x-mas
the quality of the picture is pretty damn good IMO
and it features full manual mode.. i think most camera now featuer full manual mode

Very true. I own two sony cameras and bought one recently a brand new 5.1 megapixel for about 350 dollars. almost 400 with a extra 128MB memory stick. I highly recommend Sony.
