Don't know what climate you've got in Jersey, but go for RWD. Much more fun. Just think on how many days a year you really need AWD, and I mean REALLY need... because you CAN drive RWD in the snow, and besides, one has to drive carefully in those conditions anyway.

good thing about driving the AWD car in the snow as opposed to RWD is you dont always have to get out and put chains on it. Im not saying the BMW or RWD is bad, i actually like both a lot. but like i said, get what suits your needs, i can only tell you what suits mine.

Heh, chains on your tires. I don't know about other countries but I believe it is now illegal in most of the US. It tears up the streets.
RWD, AWD, FWD, they all have thier pros and cons. Some are trickier to drive in crappy weather, but a little commom sense should keep you out of trouble.
I believe what matters more is your tires. All season tires suck. They make too many compromises and end up being junk. A good snow tire is unbelieveably better than any other tire in the snow. The same for summer tires, obviously a summer tire would be a performance tire.

you know how bad the winters can be up north here.. go for the audi.. even without taking that into consideration, i would take it.. my first choice was the 330, but i'd take the audi definetly now

either the C320 or 330

But if you want real performance try to find a used C5 corvette

@666-when did chains become illegal? i saw some people using them in the mountains this past winter.

im not saying you cant drive FWD or RWD in the snow, even with AWD i still drive very carefully. hell i rode up to the mountians in a friends POS 66 mustang and we didnt have any problems. i drove the 3 series and the A4 and personally liked the A4 better, so i went with that and i didnt want the FWD one so i got AWD

i`m glad you like my suggestion with the 330, but AWD is no problem...
just take the 330xi! like the 330Ci it has the 3.0/231hp engine but it`s a sedan. compared to the A4 3.0 quattro the 330xi is even a bit cheaper.
on the other hand Audi is well known for their superb cars, so it`s a really hard decision....

I'm sure in remote locations like the mountains it's allowed. In most cities, it's illegal. I know it is illegal here anyway. They tear up the streets really bad.
