I don't think that's the new Elise, just a different Lotus concept.
As for the looks I like it, but I'm not to keen on the idea of increasing the cars size in all 3 dimensions. However, making it wider body could improve the already fantastic handling.

Yeah they have been talking about releasing a a car between elise and esprit, in size, for a while now. Pretty sure thats what that is. It may however be a replacment in the US for the Elise.

I think they might even be thinking of a 2+2.
Anyway, for new American rules and regs, i think they're trying to redesign the elise so it meets the new standards for 2006 or 07. make it "safer" apparently.

i think that car (the 2+2) is a good idea and looks very good, although the rear looks pretty boring and it doesn't look to be providing alot of downforce
(check out these pics http://www.autocar.co.uk/News_Articl...currentresults and click on "gallery")
Aslo i think the m250 looked better...
I can't wait for the new Lotus models (2+2, esprit replacement, new elise)

The M250 was a very good looking car, I must admit. Too bad it never went into production.

I'm liking the design of the upcoming 2+2, think it looks pretty mean. Good to see it took some cues from the M250. That car was damn awesome, Lotus should have produced it. As for the new "spied" Elise, I don't mind the looks, but I think the current one looks better.

I like the actual Elise more! The new one look a little bit like the Opel Speedster!
