Default Video editor

i have a lot a 9mm video of a lot of different stuff, i am currently making it digital. what cheap, (free) programs would you recommend. if they are not free i am still open for opinions.

Assuming you got everything in AVI already, you can try VirtualDub to do simple filtering and cutting. I use it to do most of my capping/editing work. Of course, there's always adobe premiere for more complex jobs

thanks heaps, i was wonder how i could get writing on there as well, i have corel RAVE but that donst seem to like bif files..
