I like it when they have music with cars, but the music should reflect what the car is doing. For example, if the car is moving slowly then add some slow music, car is moving fast ad some upbeat music. And of course the music shouldn't be very loud to the point where you can barely hear the engine.

Well sometimes its cool, like on Gumball type vids when the sound isn't always the best. Oh and in long motorway journeys in my car, to drown out the sound of the engine....... only four gears in my car!

Keep the music but make it low so you can hear the engine.

No music ever, if I want music I'll put the radio on while I watch the video.

i actualy like it, i think it is the differance between making and breaking a car video!
the technology most amatures use is to crap to fully capture the noise most car engines make, so yes, i think music is very important!

makes it much better to watch!

I agree with you, the choice of music is very important. When chosen properly, it can really make a video 10x better. Sure, having engine noise is good but it's not always possible when you don't have the proper equipments.

This is always true when you're making a video with clips from various sources (like TV), most of the times you get commentary and all kind of "other" sound. In that case, it's virtually impossible to have a video without music.

Take Top Gear for instance. What I really like about them is their choice of music. Most amatures just can't do that.... myself included. I try to pick music that matches the video but never really get it right. There has to be a reason why those guys are working for BBC and I'm not

Crap driving, music to keep me awake. eg redline vids.

Good driving no music, to hear the engine being handled by a professional eg Ari Vatanen hill climb.

To other films it works well if there is music but to others I just want to hear the sounds. So sometimes it really ruins the whole film.

i vote for music, it adds alot to the video in my mind, but not too loud! most videos know the balance point between the background music and the main event, the car.

It depends. When it's on-board video with the car being driven hard there should be no music. Otherwise, music is good. See my (shamelessly self-promoting) video: http://www.jabbasworld.net/dload.php...ile&file_id=74
