I think music is excellent and should be used in some videos for certain cars honda, acura, exc. But certain ones like Porsche and other exotics should have the engine ringing in your ears.

i don't mind having music in car videos as long as it compliments what's going on in the vid. if it's there just to add something, then take it out. it it's there to add emotion, make it more exciting, them i'm all for it.

I think music is alright so long as it is a compilation video, just tons of cool clips thrown together. it also makes it easy to edit the audio bit. for whole clips of video shot of a car I preffer to hear the tire squeel and the engine roar. just my opinion.
take it easy, Micah

I think Top Gear and Fifth Gear do a good job of combining music with car videos. Personally I think the right kind of music enhances the video if done correctly ...

Example: There was a feature on Top Gear some years back on a motorcycle stunt rider and they played "Unbelievable" by EMF when he was doing all the crazy stuff - stoppies and the like - it was just perfect....

Like the others said I hate it when they overlay music when the engine is screaming ....

Then again watch the Victory by Design - no music except for what emanates from the tires and engines - perfect for the Ferrari episode....

No music when the car provides it already!
Eg 5th gear Tiff driving the Enzo at Fiorano; great vid that one, the sound is amazing to behold.
But for gumball type vids it is fine and adds to the atmosphere when chosen appropriately; I would say that most mainstream artists would be out of the price range for the prod companies to license hence the internet artists.
Music in car vid games sucks, first thing I do is change all assistance off and all music, esp GT4 PRO .
