Saw it on Friday night (after a 2hrs line-up outside the theatre) and all I can say it, it's the best movie I've seen in the past few years. In no way it is directly comparable to the old Bond movies since everything is so different.

Overall, it's a much darker Bond and Daniel Craig did a good job. Should be interesting to see what the next Bond movie will be like when it comes out 2 years from now. I heard there'll be a cameo by Eva Green

For the DBS roll, apparently they tried to use a ramp to roll the car but the aston pretty much leveled itself in mid air and landed on 4 wheels. So they ended up using an air canon. There was a documentary on Making of Casino Royale on ITV or channel 5.

^^^it was on 5th gear. They tested the manouvere on cars with similair weigh to the DBS and all went well but when it came to shooting with the DBS the car didn't want to flip over so they had to use the canon.

After reading many positive reviews, I also went to see it on Friday. Overall, the movie is not bad, but certain scenes are missing the link to reality. And most important of all, even tho Daniel tries very hard to imitate previous Bonds (e.g. water scene), but you can feel that something is still missing.

Spoliers Warning:

If they plan on focusing so much on the poker scenes, at least make it look like a real poker game. There's no raise / re-raise, ppl just check / call.

How the hell could you flip an AM like that? It's no Ford Explorer.

When the entire building colapse into the water, how the hell could you have such clear water in the last scene.

I thought Bond suppose to be a calm and smart gentleman, but this film seems to portait him as quite the opposite.

Anyways, at least I didn't feel rip off when leaving the theater, so I'll rate it a 6/10.

Well thats what movies do If shit was 100% realistic then movies would be borring documentaries

I watched it, and I liked it. Its very different. A soild movie but I wont say its the greatest thing of the last couple of years.

Most definetly is the best bond after GoldenEye.

It annoyed the hell out of me that the movie is set in 2006 but it is the start of bond. That and the romance scenes were a bit moronic.
Where was the Q like charachter?
Otherwise a great movie, tons of action.

I watched the movie yesterday. It was better than I expected. Daniel craig did very good job IMO. I gave 8/10 to this film at IMDB.

I got a bit bored at the middle really....and how is that sail boat suppost to pass under the Rialto bridge in Venice? And where is the DBS? I mean, its night and he wrecks the car, thats IT???? A bit disapointed really.....but it gets back at the end, very nice, when the building collapses

I liked better , ''Die another day'' .....

I have just seen in yesterday daniel graig dit a good job
But the end was really shitty to much romance to little action no decent car chase.
The first part of the movie was really good it all got downhill when james bond is captured.

Saw it today, the new approach is very refreshing, finally crappy and naive CG is gone making place for authentic stunts. And they finally got rid of the cheesy quotes. Too bad so little attention was paid to the DBS

He wasn't suppose to be "Bondish" anyways. Remember, this was the beginning on Bond, the first book in Ian Fleming's novels.

For me, easily 8 out of 10, if not 9 out of 10.

I agree with other's that it is the best Bond since Golden Eye.

Anyway - what I missed quite a lot was the Q character... but I wonder, did he really appear in Ian Flemming books?
You might be right about that, maybe he wasn't in the Casino Royale book :bah:
