Default What other major car companies should get involved with F1?

Personally, I think it would be cool to see Audi and Porsche in the F1. I think would spice it up between car companies. what do you guys think?

How about Cadillac or Bently should step up to F!. I would prefer Cadillac because GM might as well grab a piece of the F1 pie. They can afford it.

I never thought about GM. Because we have the Indianapolis course, it would be nice to have an American team too.

Well the only American company left is GM technicaly. Ford has Jaguar and Daimler/Chrysler has Mercedes Benz so that would be a place to start. Something from the VW/Audi group would be interesting (That includes Porsche, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini).

Ford is already involved in F1 either through Jaguar and Minardi (they provide the engine). I don't think the "good old time" could be back ...
The major car companies missing in F1 are VW and GM.

Aston Martin is Ford property so they could made Aston race in F1 as well as Jaguar, it's just a question of marketing.
Maserati is Ferrari property so i don't see them racing in F1 as long as Ferrari is ...
For Porsche, of course it would be great but their last try (a V12 provide to Footwork in 1989 or 1990 ) was a disaster, it request too much money.

I know Lamborghini is owned by Audi but that would be interesting.
Porsches have to enter F1, because it is hard to see a good supercar maker and with great experience not to be at the Top of the Racing competitions.

i think no matter how much you plead with porsche, they won't enter it. it costs exorbitant amounts of money to set up a team
