Default AUTOCAR 21Sep :E60 M5 vs W211 E55 vs Maserati!!!

The M5 came on top in this test but I would take the E55 AMG anyday hands down.
Don't get me wrong M5 is great car but for me the looks, the interior and the sheer straigt line power of the Merc is unbeatable!!

Hard to understand how the Maserati can score equally high as the Merc. The Merc is better in just about everything.

how do you know? Driven them both?

M5 for me anyday, as the writer says they're all just about equal on the motorway, maybe the maser loosing out in ride quality but the M5 is the only one you really would want to be in to take a detour off onto the b roads

Yeah, the new M5 iz amazing, but just doesn't have the character and presence of the Maserati...

Personally, I'd take the Quattroporte...

as far as i remanber, AutoCar never gave 5 stars to any car. even the McLaren F1 "only" got 4.5 stars.

so i guess in a way M5, as a sport sedan, is as good as a McLaren F1, as a supercar. 8)
