As crazy as it may sound, I would like to see an unexpected auto manufacturer like Hyundai, Kia, Ssanyong, Daewoo, or even Daihatsu to be involve in an F1.

Yeah, GM would probably stay out of it. Keep in mind though the Corvette still competes in ALMS.
I personally would like to see Lotus or Porsche, but then again, I doubt entire company would have enough money to really compete in F1 without a major sponsor/contributor. Then again, people said the same thing about Ferraris in the 90s.
Another question to ask is that there are 10 teams (20 cars) right now in F1. Would FIA allow another team? Has there been a 22+ car field before? I remember a few years ago they had Arrows and Prost. . .

It would be nice to see Audi entering F1, and the CEO of Audi declared that if things are going well for Audi as a sports brand, they might enter Formula 1. Maserati cannot enter F1, because Ferrari is already there, but a co-operation between Audi and Maserati would look good.

Whoever mentioned Aston Martin, they were already in Formula 1. They ran in 1959 with the DBR4 which had its best finish of 2nd at Silverstone and broke a lap record in the same race. In 1960 they ran the DBR5 but only ran it in two races before they decided to cancel the Formula 1 attempt.
The cars were both front-engined and destined to failure from the start when the rear-engine cars hit the scene.

There is no maximum limit on cars in Formula 1, merely a minimum limit. There must be at least 20 cars on the field, hence why they do not want to lost another team, or else some top teams will have to start fielding 3 cars per race.
There have been seasons with upwards of 30 to 40 cars.

Oh thanks, yeah, I've heard about the 3 cars thing. . . It is just so expensive now to keep manufacturers in F1.
Damn, 30 to 40 cars?!?! That is almost getting to be like NASCAR or something. . .

In F1, you should be happy if you achieve wins within the first five years.
Just look at Toyota and Jaguar.
It would be nice if they stuck with it for a while. . . (The American Team that is).

you tend to forget that Jaguar is a continuation of Stewart Racing.
Stewart Racing, aA team what started form 'scratch ' and managed a podium finish in their first year. So it has been done in recent history :fadein:
