Default Massive Fail: Toyota Baja race truck uses a GM LS2 because of reliability

They still bothered to put the Toyota badges on it.

sounds suspect but ok i imagine gearbox issues and i thought the unlimted class ran upwards of 750 hp the gm trucks run three speed automatics and have a ton of torque and the toyotas have 6 speed manuals and are down on power but are lighter pretty crazy race though for those who havent seen the baja races there was documentary called dust to glory made by dana brown the son of bruce brown who made the endless summer one of the greatest surfing movies of all time back in the sixties should check it out decent flick i would guess the gm motor is better for the price

. . . or just better for the event. Considering the stratospheric cost of trophy trucks, I don't think they try to save money on the engine.
