Metallica in the top 100 WORST solos!?!?!

Guitar World has compiled a list of the 100 worst solos. No details are given as to why Metallica is named but according to guitarworld.com, Kirk Hammett and a few other legends explain what solos they would rerecord.
Hopefully this is the only reason for sticking Metallica on the list...
now i have to go buy the issue and find out what crawled up their ass and died :x

the only solos i can complain about are off of Reload. I haven't heard St. Anger so they may be off that record...

Man Kirk Hammet is one of the sloppiest guitarists ever...I cannot stand listening to his sloppy speed picking technique (just pick as fast you can can with your right hand) I mean, he doesn't even sound like he is doing THAT properly! the guy sucks balls

According to the article, its not necessarily a solo- it could be one of their riffs. Some of their early stuff was pretty basic, so maybe thats what got picked.

I wouldn't be surprised, although as far as rhythm metallica are pretty awesome, they've got some amazing off/on/off beat riffs that just make your mind tingle...

number 1 is that the worst or the best? because his soloing isnt that great. sure he was taught by joe satriani but he has nothing on him. If you think metalica solos are great you will be surprised when you listen to other stuff

there solo's do suck.. it only took 90million album sales for them to realise that!
i think the list was unintresting, so they just tried to be contraversal and include the greatest metal band off all time to stir the pot.
i would love to know what song, and guitarist...

basicley if evreyone liked the same thing it owuld be crap and boaring, but thats no exvuse for journalists talking crap to make a story,
another key example is when there is "public demand" for a band so the media gives the public coverage of the band and news ect. about it, then a month later says that band has sold out!!! fucking stupid..
ohhhh and if another person says metallica is past there prime (journalists) they have absalutley no respect for music, and should be shot!!
past there prime.. "sold out" the only thing metallica sells out is EVERY SEAT in the house whenever they play!

OK, so Metallica isn't what they were pre-Black Album. but anyone that thinks a band should stick with what they started as, knows as much about music as a record label.
Change is natural, not selling out. If Metallica were ever to do a reality show, the way Ozzy has...THEN i would say they are selling out.

yes, thats what there record company wanted them to do, with the some kind of monstor footage, as cheap promotion to there st. anger CD, but they refused to, and brought the footage themselfs - there own money for 2 million!
i agree pre-black album days are behind them, sadley, but they still do produce quality song's (oftern a bit to heavley produced)
when they start singing about there gf's to a catchy riff, then thats when they have sold out!
but they do what they love, tour, and keep there fans.. sorry army! happy!!!
