Kinda as gis said, but remember these were the days when broadband was still fairly new and computers were not very powerful which made playing videos really crappy and things like bandwidth were very tight.

I don't want to blow my own trumpet but I think I was one of the first to upload TG videos onto the internet (admittedly not very good) and RF was one of the first good forums to be part of so they kinda went together and of course people wanted to see more Top and 5th gear and I was happy to provide it from my VHS collections etc.

There is a certain Diablo video that still floats around the net that was my very first capture and upload :

Damn I wish I had put a banner on that one, it must have been downloaded like a million times or something.

not really telling other then maybe a friend sent me a RF link around that time... I leached off RF earlier then that, but wasn't part of any discussion forums... actually, JW was the first one I actively became a participant in! ~and by far i still consider my home, and post the most in 99% quality posts, .2% Chuck norris and .8% spam

yea,you have the right to blow your own trumpet jabba because if it wasnt for you,im sure theres a lot of people around the world on JW who wouldnt have top gear if it wasnt for you,but i remember at first with me on 56k it took me like 8-9 hours to get an episode of top gear, lol which i carried on into JW,lol.i also sent you that max power beats from the east VHS,lol.also with the kind help from yourself and Dan i got sent a couple DVD discs with stuff on to keep me up to date.

+1 The RF days seem like such a distant memory to me. I have lived in four different houses since then LOL My post count is pretty low considering how long I have been a member here but I guess I am quiet in real life and forum life.

Weren't Geekdiggy and Possessed Beaver from RF too? What ever happened to them?

I never registered at RF... I was just one of the poor leechers waiting for the slow downloads to finish.

Ahh this brings me back to freshman year of college. Crazy that I'm done with my 5 year program next year..

Yeh both were big members here and are sadly missed, I know the beaver pops in every now and then and geek went off to study some where I think.

^^ Odd as both were pretty big contributors IIRC then it appeared like they just vanished.
