I also heard elsewhere that due to Hamilton's off-track 'excursion,' the cooling system in the gearbox was compromised which led to overheating ??? Personally, I think driver error contributed to the problem...

Honestly, I don't think we'll ever know.

Yeah I'm sure you wouldn't have done the same thing if you were in his place, after all he wasn't there to finish the race, he was there to be a gentleman, abandon and then go and do some gay reflections on the purpose of life while other people were racing...

oh please..
name any other f1 driver who went off-track with no possibility to continue racing (buried/spinning wheels) and waiting for help to be placed back on track

yep, i've seen that (i mean towing, pushing, etc..) number of times in the usa (say champ cars series) but i dont remember anything like that in f1 :/
pure f1 driver should say `fuck it, my bad, shit happens` and then shut the engine down, take off the steering wheel, get out of the car and walk away in peace 8) 8)

btw, i must admit he's not SUCH an asshole:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/7056308.stm
Lewis FIAmilton has told the BBC he does not want to win an F1 title through disqualifications for other drivers [....]

^yea...you gotta admire him

Its funny that you have the front of that pic and not the back...you would have noticed that his right rear was coming apart from the core.

LOL, yeah, then the pure one would get on his unicorn and get back to the stands, in peace of course; and I didn't ask what a "pure" f1 driver would have done, I asked what you would have done in the situation if you had a chance to get back in it.
