Front Page News: A Buckled Street Sends Motorists Flying
I went out to get the newspaper on last Saturday morning...and I found this covering the entire front page, I thought it was a pretty amazing series of pictures .
I can't believe how high in the air that bastard got...
Hope its ok that this isn't technically a 'magazine scan' .

There must be a curve before that or something for people not to notice that. Id think otherwise youd see it a mile away.

Nope...the road is a straight for about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile up to that point; it is however pretty hard to see something like that, the road is all the same color, and from a distance that pushed up part just blends into the road behind it. I drove by that morning (at like 7am on the way to work), and it was still there, but thankfully they had put barricades around it so more people didn't hit it.
I think I would have noticed it once I got within about 500ft, but farther away, it was pretty hard to see...and judging by how little attention some people pay to the road, its not surprising that people hit it.
