It would have been possible for ferrari to make the enzo go quicker than the McLaren - but they chose downforce and stability over absolute top speed. 219 mph is still pretty quick by anyone's standards..
The faster the ferrari goes, the more stable it becomes - compare this with the McLaren - Andy Wallace had to put corrective lock on at 230mph to keep it straight - just shows what a star the guy is - he kept his foot in and pushed on to 240mph. Balls of steel
The enzo will also be faster on a track (better brakes, better handling, that pesky down force issue again
) plus its clutch will probably last longer than 3k miles... :roll:
McLaren is a great car, don't get me wrong, just that its not all about headline grabbing top speeds any more.
Oh, and to put it in perspective the enzo will still annihilate a carrera gt, slr, bentley gt, murcielago etc as far as top speed is concerned.
