Thanks for the article TT; here in Italy long termers articles are always late and sometimes some report isn't even published

In the italian version they just translate the original long termers pages? Don't they have their own ones? Ot they have and I simply can't understand a fuck?

After Mondadori bought the publishing licence of Evo Italia a lot changed. The old redaction were fired, only one (Marco Della Monica, you can read of him in eCOTY scans) were able to saty. Now the issue is 90% translation of english articles, whic is good because the Italians ones simply sucks.
To give you an idea, in the last issue there's the Enzo vs Koenigsegg vs Zonda article, Ford Gt vs 360 modena, the challenge between Mini Tuners and finally, for the Legens, there's the original Mini Cooper S.
The Italians journalist what have done? a test between BMW 745i, Jag XJ 4.2, Audi A8 4.2 and Mercedes S500...BLEAH!
Italian long termers are a BMW bike and a Saab 9-3 Diesel... but you can read of it only one time every 3 months...
It's a shame, because until one year ago it was so beautiful, but now it's more a magazine for "fighetti" (sorry I can't translate it into english).
Also the publicity is changed...Armani..Chanel..fashion magazine stuff in one word.

Dang, to bad... I only read the first italian issue ever.. it was not that bad, even if obviously maybe 50% was old stuff I already saw on the original one and simply tanslated..

IMO in Italy something like evo should exists, but with a true Italian staff... of course IMO uk staff would remain the best and maybe their budget would still be bigger.. but with all the marvellous cars Italy create, there can't be just Quattroruote and Elaborare

The bad thing is that Mondadori have a lot of money (the oder publisher was really poor, and sometimes journalists didn't have money for the petrol...) and the mag is terrible. b4, without so much money, they where able to write articles that Quattrotuote, Auto and so on could only dream about. Reading you could really feel the passion of the driver, the emptions ,the thrills. Yes, UK's article where better, but now the difference is...as big as the Pacific Ocean, while before it was like the Tirreno...

Let's hope in the future things get better and better

Feeling really sorry for that.. one of the greatest countries for sportcars and supercars and not a good mag to match that

It's weird, Evo is worse than before, but it's still the best Italian Mag...
Now you know because I'm so happy about Evo uk scans. Since I can't afford subscription is a sort of drug for my car passion...

Italy can be beautiful for some reasons but for others it's terrible. We have Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and now Pagani..and what we have? not a single decent Italian Car Magazine, not a decent TV show ( you know Easy Rider or TG2 Motori? )

I was amazed the first time I saw Top Gear and 5th Gear, a totally different, beautiful world.

Now that I've said all those things I'm more relaxed...sorry for the long posts

LOL you bet I know TG2 Motory and Easy Driver terrible shows... I always hoped for Mediaset to do something better, with bigger budget, but I suppose the big heads hav no idea how much interest there would be... we could go on hours, but we're not many knowing italian situation about car mag and shows

Last thing... I know in Europe there are already some great car shows... I attend evey year Geneva's and it's marvellous as are Paris and Frankfurt, but well.. also Italy IMO should have something better than Bologna... not that it's bad, but at European or World level there are just a couple of news every now and then

Well, enough.. with internet luckily all the barriers can fall

That's true, Bologna Motor Show can't be compared to Ginevra, Paris or whatever car show. It's too poor, isn't enough big and famous to make car makers want ot present a new car in that show. Ginevra and Paris are much more important, so it's obvious all manifacturers are proud to present something new. But all this importance isn't falling from the clouds, there's an hard work behind. Here simply there isn't enough will to make Italians shows being important all around hte world.
I would like to be in England sometimes...so much passion for the cars
