That "valvetronic" thing is just a flap that silences the exhaust at idle. European countries have noise standards for idling cars. baisiclly the engine vacuum keeps the flap closed, and then once the engine picks up speed and vacuum drops off, the flap springs open and lets all the glourious decibels out
from what i can see, they just use a different way of opening the valve.
when i saw the valvetronic thing i immediatley thought of the Valvetronic system BMW uses on the N62 and N73 motors
