The 917K sure looks nice. Is still my favorite model .. though its status as top dog will be hopefully gone by next week - I am getting a special Ferrari ...

I have posted pics of the 917 earlier.

Here are the ones as requested...

HW F40
--> Was my first car that I bought a poster for years back ...
Pretty nice quality overall. I remember someone pointing out an error with the gear level coming out of the wrong place. But minor details ... worth buying for sure.

Autoart Lamborghini Diablo GTR

--> typical Autoart excellence in design and execution. The one huge pain in the butt is the doors .. it doesn't open easily .. need to push hard on the tiny door button and yank hard on the door.

Exoto Tyrrell P34 ... I dont think anyone else has one so I can take the liberty of posting some pics

---> This is a 6 wheel car that was short lived in F1 before being banned. If I remember this is in the Monaco race config with wet tyres set up.... which is why the downdraft pipes above the carbs have a shield above it to keep the water out. There is another version of the same car with dry weather config but different paint scheme .. I liked this color better so picked this one...

The helmet visor also comes up as has been shown below.... The engine wirings are all nicely detailed along with springs and dampers....

The inboard brakes rotate with the wheels as well... I love Exotos .. this is my first and hopefully not my last

OK hit the F1 motherlode this week ... got three Exoto Ferraris and a Minichamps 1988 Lotus. All this from www.scalecars.com

And .... Was on a business trip to Philadelphia this week and picked up two Hot Wheel Ferraris while I was there in a nice mom and pop store....

1. Exoto 1990 Ferrari 641/2 Alain Prost

The seminal F1 car shape. Challenge me with a better looking F1 shape ... it has everything - screaming V12, coke bottle shape, blood red color. Awesome detailing as can be seen from the pictures below:

Opened up

Engine cover removed - 12 pots

Exoto 1975 Ferrari 312T - Niki Lauda
The start of the renaissance in the 70s ... brought the WDC to Ferrari after 11 years. Flat 12 and mechanicals carried over for several years ... mirror finish wings

Opened up

Engine close up - Flat 12

nest of vipers

Exoto 1979 Ferrari 312 T4 - Gilles Villeneuve
championship winning car with Jody Schecter ... I got the Villeneuve car because he was a very special person as well as phenomenal driver

From the Lauda car you can see that the wheelbase has visibily grown wider .. the whole car sits lower for better aerodynamics ... the tires have grown a lot in the rear.

Opened up

- you can see the driver legs, the mid mounted radiators, everything...

nest of vipers

1986 Lotus 98T - Ayrton Senna

2000 Ferrari F2000 - Rubens Barrichello
- first championship winning Ferrari after 21 years ... high nose compared to the next year's car...

2001 Ferrari F2001 - Rubens Barrichello
The template to today's F2004 ... the cars evolved a little every year since ..

And pray tell me who's responsible for this addiction .... its you, Eric and Danny .... Okaaaay .

We need to form a Scale Model Anonymous (SMA) in the mould of AA .... Hi ... My name is Sameer and I am addicted to scale models.

And speaking of 100s of cars I forgot to add two more cars

1. Carrera 1:32 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo with Martini paintwork
Le Mans winner I believe

2. Autoart 1:32 2002 Subaru impreza - Makkinen
- This is a 4WD slot car just like the real thing with working headlights..

Because it is Autoart it is detailed very nicely....
