The part on the Wikipedia Site towards the bottom about "Known" information about the Stig is pretty funny...its all the stuff they say on the show but its funny to read them all together

I always thought that the 2nd stig was Damon Hill, but my basis for that was when the stig drove the F1 car. I beleived only someone with an F1 background could be trusted and be able to drive that fast in a Full on car like that. But that arguement has fallen through. Any speculations to say someoene else drove the DBR9? and not the real stig?

Stig absolutely 100% postitively did drive the Renault 2004 chassis around the TG track... he also had a very hard time not stalling it 8)

Stig's face is also known to anybody who is in the TG audience... as he has the helmet off, and is at most studio tapings.

Stig was a test driver...
unfortunately, my source cannot recall his name... but he is a very familiar character... and not exactly like our friend perry mcarthy's interesting history.

cheers.

If it was so public, surely there were pictures of him in the program around the net!

Well if its true it's hardly news, since Perry said he was stig before in his book.

And yes i do still lurk about couldn't resist logging in

Well the article says that Julian is the new, white stig, he took over form McCarthy (black stig), not just drove in his place a couple of times (that would mean that he drove as black stig) ...

Now, there're 2 possible outcome...

1. Julian Bailey is really the new white Stig and Jeremy has to kill him off like he did to the black Stig.
2. Julian Bailey is not the new white Stig.

In conclusion, we'll never know the identity of the latest Stig

Well, if JC puts a gun to his helmet, I guess it was Bailey.
Anyway, I dont know how old the article is, just found a scan on some forum. Maybe it's old ...

nice find, but that site is just a grouping of articles. I think the show would lose some edge if we all knew who STIG was....thats some of the fun of the show.
