Carrera gt - belgian race version being build
Exciting project reveiled a couple of days ago. Some hot entrepeneur over here in Belgium bought a Carrera GT and is going to change it into a fullblood racecar. It's going to take some time ofcourse because nothing really excist specifically for the CGT and they won't get support from Porsche.
Yesterday i was in Spa-Francorchamps and i saw the car because they are going to explore it's capabilities in a national Belcar-race. Everything is standard at the moment so that will be interesting.
In the future they will decide in which championship they will compete when the car is finished, possibilities are: Le Mans, LMES, FIA GT and Belcar.
here some pictunes of the car

???
well, as st-a says, its perfect...
but also, it started life as a Le Mans project; i dont doubt that they could be fairly competitive with the car

Interesting idea and I'd like to see the results... but I doubt whether this will be a success to be honest.

yeah this is interesting to say the least.
i'm sure there are alot of body parts and engine/tranmision components that can be swapped out for more precise, lighter and less durable parts.
i'm curious as to what was done to the car in order to lighten and stiffen it?

And about the car, looks like a VERY interesting project. I'd like to see pics of the car once it's finished... although I guess it will only be that: a supercar with stickers... If there was official factory support, or the team was Prodrive, then I would expect something FAST... but let me doubt it will be competitive.
I hope I'm wrong...

OMG, if prodrive was involved
there are a few other groups who could it fantastic too... Holbert Racing here in the states would be able to do it, or recomend the best available to do it... but based on the pictures, the CGT looks just sticker-fied

Some Magazine at Barns & N. had an article where they raced a track prepaired GT3 RSR and a Carrera GT in street form and the GT3 RSR won by a hair. The Carrera GT is one of my favorite cars. They said with track tires it may have beaten the RSR.
On the street or in war paint, the C GT is one fine ride.
