Fernando Alonso rides on the coat-tails of Renault engineers. He is a good driver, but he's not championship material. He also has a bad attitude. People with bad attitudes don't deserve to win championships.

Compared to Alonso, off the track, he is. He doesn't complain about random shit, he doesn't complain about his team, and he's never arrogant in victory.

Alonso is a good driver, but I just don't think he has that X-factor that we must demand of true champions.

I am curious to think why you thinks slicks will point out a a true champion?

Im rooting for Schumi as well. I dont really have anything against Alonso, but it would be nice for a great driver like Schumi to go out with a bang (not like the one he had in Japan)

BTW ------> best smiley ever!

If Alonso wins the championship, so be it, he probably won't ever win again. But it is fitting that Schumi bow out with a win.

^But still, there are many factors which make out a true champion, like consistency, ability to win against the odds (clearly inferior car, after an accident etc), ability to drive in rain... Ability to drive well on slicks is probably quite low down on the list.
