My god that was BY FAR the best race of the past I-don't-know-how-many years!

All I can say is hats off to Alonso for keeping Schumi at bay, and a legendary drive from Michael. MY GOD HE WENT FAST

It looks like FERRARI IS BACK

That was a great race, schmi coming from 13th to 2nd!! Quality stuff!!

The car has blistering pace, he was awesome on the brakes, but the renault just had too much torque out of the corners and always got that car length between them in the straights. Great battles there for sure...cant wait till the next one.

sorry i didnt explain myself more clearly
i was referring to the dirty air not the slipstreem

schumi was over 1 sec a lap faster.. yet he couldnt pass him.. yes alonso mention he break harder for his own protection.. but this yr's higher nose also doesnt help either

ITVs coverage did piss me off, but after a boring start that final showdown between Schuey and Alonso was legendary. Alonso proved today that he is a racer. Before then all his wins have been pretty easy. Schumacher proved a point today and I was so gutted he didnt get past Alonso. It was like the first time since 2001 I was chearing on Schumacher!

ITV Highlights are essential to watch tonight even if it means feeling shit for work!

The coverage of the race just ended here in the states. All I can say is WOW! That is how grand prix racing should be, full of tension up to the last moment. I have to hand to Schumi, what a brilliant drive even though he did not come thru with the win. After Kimi fell out, I thought the race had been handed to Alonso(Here we go again). But after the cars began to pit Michael's pace was outrageous! He was absolutly fyling. His pass on Button might have one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Button got caught sleeping, and shumi nailed it! But Alonso did do a fine job of holding him off to pick up his third in a row.

If Schumi can hold his errors in qualifying, I think were in for a totally different rest of the season!

^LOL.......
Great race overall, but it's kind of werid to see Ferrari suffer reliabilities now. Mclaren is not the place to be, Kimi has the speed and consistancy, but Mclaren time after time fail to provide him with a car reliable enough to finish the race.

up untill now, during htis season, i was always glad the Ferrari's weren't fast and reliable enough...but today i really wanted schumi to win, he deserved to (but then again so did alonso). Brilliant race

^^

Ah, the Foster's chicks... Gotta love 'em...

Seems like Jenson is in trouble. From grandprix.com:

As night was falling in Imola word went around the F1 paddock that there might be a problem with the BAR-Honda of Jenson Button. The car remains in the scrutineering area at the moment.
The "word" is that the car was too light...

On a side note, anyone knows of a site that has a full lap chart? I had a link for one but lost it...

Excellent race. Michael was just so freaking fast. The first 20 laps or so, I thought that there was no way anyone could even compete with Alonso especially since Michael was so far behind.

But man, he was fast. I wanted him to pass Alonso too, but just not enough laps to pull it off I guess.

Best race of the season! Farrari is BACK!!!

About the coverage: Man, and I thought CBS did a bad job when they went to commerical with 8 laps to go. I was saying you gotta be kidding right? I guess ITV was worst in that sense.

Overall, CBS did a pretty good job commentating. They were explaining everything though, such as pitting, downforce, oversteer, understeer ---> I guess for the people that never watched it before.

Good job CBS. Look forward to the next race with you guys.

The link that I had contained ALL laps of all drivers. Quite neat, but I can't find the site anymore.

And it seems that Button's case is resolved:

confirmed after six hour wait
Sun Apr 24, 2005 09:16 PM BST

IMOLA, Italy, April 24 (Reuters) - Briton Jenson Button's third place in the San Marino Grand Prix was confirmed after a six hour wait on Sunday.

The BAR driver had long left the Imola circuit by the time Formula One race stewards gave his car the all-clear after summoning team representatives and weighing it both with and without fuel.

"Immediately following the end of the race the car was weighed in the configuration it had finished and was above the minimum weight limit," the stewards said in a statement issued by the governing FIA.

"It was subsequently drained of fuel and then re-weighed and found to be underweight.

"The stewards after hearing the explanation of the competitor's representatives and studying all the available documentation decided that the matter requires no further action."

Button's podium was BAR's first of the season after three races without points.
