Funny thing is, that's exactly what I thought when I looked at that side profile shot!

I suppose just a coincidence... too bad.
The more I read about this car, the more I like it.... 3 rotor engine with "only" 450 hp may not be much, but the car is based on modern race tech since it is built on the Courage C65 Chassis that was run in ALMS in 2005! I'm sure the car will put down better power on 93 octane certainly better economy lol.

But will it be built and marketed like the RX8? If so, then Mazda better save up the squillions for the out of court lawsuite settkements

if it was built more akin to the 787b's 4 rotor... then it would last at least 10,000 miles

It looks too much like the Mitsuoka Orochi for my tastes...not bad in general, but the front end needs some serious work...kind of looks like a hognosed snake or a turtle or something.

Mazda have been on the forefront of concept design for about 3-4 years IMHO; where others are bringing "closer to production" variants to the show... i can only hope this ends up being some kind of production car, but thats less then 5% IMHO...

WOW
mazda is really surprising me lately. they were able to make some really stunning designs and concepts. this is no exception. a pure piece of art, extremely exotic too! haven't seen something that exciting for a long time

Stunnig look! The fat and and the big ones (like JC) will hate the doors, but who cares?
I agree about the front end - it need some work, but the rest is amazing!!!
Hope they do something like that for production.

well the 20B is a tried and true motor They have huge potential. The problem with rotories isn't the engine itself it is usually the drivers and the emissions crap. The 13b is an amazing engine aswell but all the emissions crap held the car back and made the costs of maintenance astronomical. The basic idea behind the rotary is simple, the execution on newer versions is flawed. The fact that a bolt-on RX-8 can't pull away from my pathfinder until 100 is pathetic when it's main competitor walks away from me like I am standing still.
All said I think the idea behind this car is awesome but I highly doubt this thing will ever see production atleast with a 20b in the rear.
