I want to see the in-car videos...

Here is a detail I had missed previously ...the front fender bulge and contours.

There is only one problem with the GT: It's a hardtop. And we all know you can't even drive a regular F50 with its top on. Since the GT is even louder, you'd have to wear ear protection to be able to drive the car.

It's a race car.

No problems there at all - since you do wear ear protection when racing..

That's new news.

Are ther any pictures or reports of this crash?

Perhaps this "ready for shipping" image sparked some rumours?

If they keep crashing this freaking car, I am going to end up just building a crashed model of the car..

Yes, this is the car that crashed on its first lap at Monterey. There's a thread on Fchat about it. The car is fine, no damage to the chassis or the frame. Supposedly, the body panel was messed up and the car will be up to speed within a month.

So it has been trashed twice already? Both during exhibition runs? Maybe that says something about running the car at anything less than race speeds.

From Ferrari chat...

That was awful when Art stuffed the F50 GT1, I was nearby & heard an engine overrevving awfully & ran to the wall. I felt sick to my stomach when I saw it, what a shame.

Watkins Glen & many other tracks have started using giant styrofoam blocks to line their cement retaining walls. If Laguna had done this the damage would have been much less for Art.

I was talking to Art 20 minutes before the wreck & he told me he just got the car back 4 days before from Ferrari in Italy where they had it for 1 1/2 years fixing it from the last wreck

I guess exploding my trans in my 512TR doesnt seem so bad now

I have a DVD with some chase-car footage of this car. Some incar video (even of the wreck ) would be nice.

That is a very poor sight to see. Their are only 5 F50 GT's in the world and i actully got a chance to see one and sit in one at a Ferrari club race in Dallas. I will post some pictures of it if i can.
