Default Half Life 2- Get Sick When I Play It

Ok I suffered from nausea with the first half life and the same with this one. I get hot, and I want to vommit when I play it for more then an hour.

Anybody else suffering from that? I know a couple of my friends are.

And does anyone know what causes it?

it's because your eyes see that you're moving, so your brain thinks that you're doing it. But your body sends the message to your brain that it's not moving, so something is wrong and.... here happens a thing that I don't have a clue

I used to get sick with some games because I didn't move my head, then one day I started to move it. ie: In the game I turn left, and my head tries to catch the movement... it's like seeing your dad playing nintendo.
You'll hear lots of recipies to avoid that dizziness/sickness. In your case I would programm an alarm to remind me to rest each 45 minutes

could be the frame rate, speed of the game, game's color pallete, etc. You should experiment by not sitting right in front of your monitor/screen

ehem..pardon my ignorance (I don't know about games) what is CS? CaStlevania??

counter strike i think is what he meant.

if you wear glasses sfd. that might be it too.

situp right and relax your eye muscles. dont sit on the ground and look up at the screen. try to sit level or sligthly higher.

I think so too, monitor is flashes very fast so we cannot see it and changing by game frame rate can (maybe) cause it.
Or you just were killed in the simular battle in your past life

Well - just go to Mexico, and duct-tape your self to the chassis of a box van and come over illegaly.

It's not like you will be lonely..

Never had that feeling, other than getting a headache, but thats only because a few times I haven't had enough sleep...apart from that no problems. (touch wood )

Yeah, didn't mind Half Life 2. Haven't been able to see it in all its glory on my P3 933, but plan to upgrade in the new year.

To be honest, I liked the original Half Life better. Yes, the real physics business was pretty good, but that funny weapon where you catch things and blow them across the place + those oversized ants was just silly. No to mention that silly 'Matrix' crap with clones and that weird ending to the game.

I was never crazy on the aliens coming through portholes, zen, etc.

The best bit was always the assassins/cleaners running around inside those buildings, backflipping etc. etc. Great stuff and when you climbed up a building, all of a sudden, one of those V-22 Osprey Helicopters turns up and the soldiers start abseiling down the ropes at you.

Alex - it is probably small epileptic seizures you are having.

Be careful you don't kick start a serious seizure one day.

I dont know man. Its only with half life that I experianced this, I dont know what it is, I think the sound has a big effect. Its subtle noises, combined with the movemnt and look of the game that hits me I guess.

FarCry, Counter Strike I can play for days.

Oh well, the only reason I do have FarCry and HL is so I can show off the graphics to my friends

^^^ epilepsy can be jump started by many different environmental factors - sound, light, chemicals - just keep an eye on it. We don't want to lose you to a video game and a sharp edge of a coffee table.
