I wouldn't go that far

This is not a "stock" function of Forza, and the game has very poor replay and camera control - and is missing the feature GT has - screen shot ability.

No force feedback wheel support and a slightly "smoothed" track surface model.

Ideally GT4 + Forza = Great Game.

The graphics and details of GT, the game depth and replay manipulaiton of GT, the support for skins of Forza, online racing ability of Forza, Force Feed back of GT, Drivatar of Forza...

I am just feeding my "collectors" hunger without buying diecast, slotcars or R/C models

There is still a major problem - there is no single player ability to see more than one custom car on-screen at the same time.

But Forza has a similar feature to GT, the ability to hook up extra XBoxs to act as "observation" camera views of network races. (Infcat, you could use 3 XBoxs and TVs to give you an arcade game 3 screen view if you want)

sweet, i didn't know that. but the main thing that i hate about GT is the value system. a 9 sec XRX wont sell for 4K. But yes the detail of GT is the winner but the gameplay and just about everything else is all Forza.

edit

Is there a way to use a stock xbox to pull the files and PS them on a Mac? I don't have xbox live but i would like to try and play with the paint jobs. is it possibile?

^^ No - you need a hacked XBox that runs a FTP server to allow the transfer of files via FTP to and from the PC.

Then you need the normal suite of video game modelling tools - utilities to pull the skin grpahics from the BIN files, then convert them to DDS format, then paint the skins with Photoshop, then you need to have a repacking utility that will repack and map the images back to the 3D bin files.. thensend em back to the XBox...

There is no simple process - just like any 3D model skining on computers, there is a bit of trial an error as you match where on the flat skin to place items to appear correctly mapped on the 3D model.

Just ask ARMAN what's involved in skinning - not to mention actual 3D modelling (which is not currently possible for Forza)

good god! now that is some serious craftsmanship!!!!!

pitty it seems the 3d model is only in Le Mans long tail configuration... it was said that the car felt loose on the turns... but well... 245mph on the Mulsanne straight makes up for that

The 962 is the prize for the final race of the game - a Nurburgring Endurance race.

It's a $400,000 + purchase.

Later on I will sell them to the guys here on JW that want to race - and just like in "real life" only one of each will be sold

It'll be up to the buyer if they want to sell more copies - or remain unique for XBoxLive! races

But you couldn't race the street cars in a race - right ?? hehe

Them 550GTC cars are a regular models - I should expect like all Ferraris, it is supposed to be a "limited" edition, but they keep making em as long as they sell hehe

I need some XBoxLive Forza volunteers to help test and verify the ability to see, buy and sell the custom skinned race cars.

I have read all sorts of rumours about these custom skinned race cars corrupting game saves - but it has always been "my brothers friends dogs vets cousin" - never a 1st generation story.

Some of us suspect they are just crap rumours spread by haters..

But I provide this disclaimer incase you buy a Custom 550GTC and your gae goes to shit

So - post up if you wanna join a game tonight and buy a cool F550

Say about 9:45 or 10pm CST.

I want to also test out having a 2nd XBox be the host view port - it is supposed to offer a spectator view of the race.

I might use RC45 gametag or RC45Z06 gametag.

I have found yet another interesting "road going" 962...

The story of the "mystery white 962"

http://www.johnstarkeycars.com/pages...ticles_19.html

I think I have rounded up the 956/962 cars I want to complete:
