Really cool. I hope all the ps3 games will have full use of that technology.

Physics schmisics... PC's have been able to that for years...

The real test will be if guys like PD can use the processing power to code decent freaking AI and damage into their driving games......

nothing too impressive.. I'll have to see how GT5 is on the PS3 before I even think about getting one.

PCs have only recently been able to generate that quality of graphics in real time.. The video cards in game consoles are pretty much the same as for PCs.

not really.

this is a different technology that's coded into the game as a seperate source from everything you've seen so far.

there are only a few games that employ this, (the new ghost recon for example) and you need a seperate procesor to run it. ( it basically takes what the cpu would normally run as enviroment code. )

new card that's out for pc's:

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/03...r_ageia_physx/

that's asus' due out this may. i think nvidia has one and one other company that helped develop the engine.

movie demonstrating the effects:

and crysis (far cry developers) employing extensive use of these cards:

But - again - who cares if water looks like water if the AI is not intelligent...

Real-time fluid dynamics havent been seen in any single kind of computer game. That video is by the people of Ageia, showcasing their new PPU (physx processing unit) for the PC, not the PS3

^^yeah, it looked like it was made from porcelain. But look closely at the way the small reservouir (or whatever that is) collapses after the metal pole crashes onto it
