what does it matter? the Z06 is fargin fast, the Porsche is fargin fast.
i personally would opt for Turbo... well, i think i'd opt for the X50. i would like to own both, however .... oh and for the record... i'd still choose that overweight Ford GT over both

You need to stop comparing the Corvette against everything. It's ridiculous
|
OK - then what would YOU compare to the 997 911 TT?
Let's hear it?
|
I'd compare it to a 430 and call it a bargain.
|
Excellent - then you go buy either one and enjoy them.
You are able to buy either one at the moment - right?

You could compare the Z06 to any other car that has 500+ hp and can do 0-60 in 3.7 sec with a top speed of 198 mph and can get around "The Ring" in 7.42 and only costs $70,000. Oh wait, there aren't any other cars that even come close to fitting that criteria. Thus we must compare it to the other cars that can offer the same (or close to) the same performance numbers regardless of price. Unfortunately, aside from the Dodge Viper, those other cars all cost well over $125,000.

Colorado.. I gave up a long time ago.. I have been having the same debate since the days when the C5 Z would bloe the doors off the 360CS - folks just refused to believe it, and then always did the "price and value don't matter when you have heritage"..
Finally you see 99% of the haters couldn't afford the cigarete lighter for their "hero mobiles" so it's a moot discussion
In the mean time, just sit back, read the magazines, enjoy the videos and drive your beast with the knowledge you are sitting retty
The other thing all the haters seem to forget, is that we may drive what we can afford (Vettes) but we enjoy and appreciate all hi-po cars - but we at least get to drive like (or better) performance or less money
Pretty funny if you think about it hehehe
And the 997 911TT isn't half bad - for an overweight, 4-wheeler with an engine in the trunk... hehehe

yeah, the gT3 has that cirtain allure to it, doesnt it an amazing car that does what it does with much less power then its 'competitors' hehe... mabey i'll have room next to that Ford GT in the garage... but i'll have to take the porsche out to drive the gt each time

Well- then don't bring it up.
Besides - don't you think others are sick of the F360/F430/P911/Gallardo being brought up in every fucking thread?
Oh wait - that's because other people want to compare all of them...

i think its brought up a lot not just because of its performance per dollar (which is universally known to be unbeatable) but bc pretty much average guys can buy corvettes. i mean if all we brought up was the mclaren slr then all i could really say was that a silver one passed me on a back road near my home last summer... but if we were to talk about corvettes i could say that i know several who own them and ive had the chance to drive a C6 Z06... cant really say that about porsche gt3, slr, murcielago et al... see, most of the guys who defend the vettes here OWN them or are close or their dad might own one or whatever. all you ferrari and porsche lovers just have your skeet skeet stained EVO mags to show for 'em...

im suddenly reminded of St-a telling us that the S (x50/x73) are able to lap NS 7 or so seconds quicker... and well.... nobody else has Walter Rohl 8)
whats amazing to think further is that the GT3 with its 'underpowered' engine will still lap faster... and well.... we see porsche tuners making GT3's that can lap Leipzig as fast/faster then the CGT
its absolutely amazing to think that 'other' car can lap the ring as fast as it did... i mean... thats a massively impressive improvement of 13 seconds in one generation... but as i said before... it will be slightly more telling once HvS drives the car. Jan may know the limits of the car... but HvS drives it to the feel, as his time is much more limited with each car.

^I think the 427 has alot to do with the huge time jump.......it gave the corvette 25% power hike, lower drag also contributed a few sec drop at the long straight at the end. Are there any 427 C5 Z06 lapped the ring?
(911 TT on the other hand only has ~12% power hike)
