Default Daniel Craig can't drive...

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Daniel Craig stunned James Bond bosses when he couldn't drive 007's classic car.

Filmmakers had transported Bond's original Aston Martin DB5 to the Bahamas to shoot new movie 'Casino Royale'.

But the star confessed he didn't have a license to drive the manual car, which Sean Connery drove when he played the dashing spy.

The 39-year-old reportedly said: "Er... I don't do gears."

An insider is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "They've started shooting here and are using the old DB5, which is absolutely sensational. It was shipped over and was ready to go but then we found out he can't drive a manual car.

"So we have had to adapt it so it's like an automatic. You don't expect that with James Bond, to be honest."

Last year, Craig admitted he is struggling to overcome his biggest fear to play Bond - he's terrified of guns.

The star will have to handle weapons in the film but said he was left petrified after seeing a real life bullet wound.

He said at the time: "I hate handguns. They are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other.

"I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess."

Makes no sense.. fire his sorry arse on the spot.

If he "doesn't do gear" - go learn how.

Serious actors learn karate, horse-back riding, rugby, typing, foreign languages - hell they even gain weight, lose weight and cut their hair off for parts -- where does he get off "not doing gears" in a Bond movie?

Angry Bond fans threaten to boycott Casino Royale, new 007 Daniel Craig
February 21, 2006

NEW YORK (AP) - They're shaken, stirred and just plain angry. And several months late with their response.

A group of James Bond fans have launched a website,www.craignotbond.com to protest British actor Daniel Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan in the 007 film franchise, and boycott the upcoming Bond movie Casino Royale.

The fair-haired Craig, whose recent screen credits include Munich and The Jacket, was tapped last October to play the secret-agent icon.

"EON Productions angered fans around the world when they fired Pierce Brosnan at the height of his popularity as Bond," said a statement on the site. "To add insult to injury, EON cast a short, blond, odd-looking Daniel Craig in the role of Bond."

"Craig, described by the New York Times as having a 'pale, flattened face and large, fleshy ears' is a terrible choice for Bond. If EON Productions and Sony Pictures will not accept they've made a big mistake, then Bond fans promise to boycott Casino Royale!"

Calls by The Associated Press to EON Productions and a representative for Craig were not immediately returned Tuesday.

Brosnan stepped into the shoes of dashing predecessors Sean Connery and Roger Moore to play a blue-eyed, dark-haired Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

In its statement, the website claimed EON did not want to pay for Brosnan or other high-profile actors Hugh Jackman and Clive Owen as replacements.

These criagnotbond people are onto something.

He's ugly, awkward-looking, looks kind of stupid, and it turns out he is. If he doesn't do gears, he should learn how. I'm sure this shortcoming can be rectified with a few hours of instruction, and what's with the phobia of guns? James Bond swears by his guns.

Yeah exactly, I was looking forward to this movie too, but now, I don't think I am all that into watching it anymore.

That's too bad. Next thing he'll say, "Umm, I don't really like Martinis. I don't drink alcohol, mineral water please." Or how about "I don't like girls, could we cast a few Bond Guys instead?"

Hey is it too late to bring back Pierce?
