Actually i believe the official name for the Enzo is the F60 (clarkson for sure kept referring to it as such... somebody correct me if i'm worng??
|
Nope. The official name is Enzo. F60 was just a rumour. Most people assumed: F40->F50->F60. Ferrari only makes 60 years in 2007.
That's why many say the next supercar will be called F60.
|
Well about 2007 thats what I thought. In that article, they show that the F50 was released 1995 so what happened then? If this follows through then 1997 should have been the year the F50 should have been released.

I knew about this idea for a long time but to finally read such extensive stuff about it makes me shiver

The 288 GTO began in 84 and ended about 85
The F40 run began two years later in 87 and finished in 92.
The F50 came 3 years later in 95 and ran till 97.
The Enzo began five years later in 02 and ran through about 2004
The F60 could start in three years later in 07 and run for a few years.
Ferrari is one of the only companys to make money off of their supercars and they sell just as many as they want. I don't expect them to go very long without a supercar in their lineup.

If the USD keeps going down in a similar way the f60 will cost roughly 5 mil.

Well they are the first to come up with a F60 scoop but it contains just pure speculations and a few indirect hints.

Pends on how many ferrari makes too, and what sort of contractual agreement they make with the buyers. Breaking the $1mil MSRP would be pretty big tho - I have doubts it would go that high, but w/ the demand of the Enzo experienced around the world, I would guess it's possible.

I find it possible as well...even if they set it that high there would be no issues with a lack of demand.

^honestly, i think they could have done it w/ the enzo if they wanted to, but they made the conscious decsion to not go down that path. it would be a nice lil occurence tho - ferrari, top speed record holder. has quite a good ring to it. and besides, if they ever get tired of winning F1, they could resort to this.

thanks for the scan chest3r. Can we please have one with higher resolution so we can read the text.
As excited as i am for this future car, doesn't it seem wierd how Ferrari is becoming so active in the last few years. I though the MC12 was supposed to be a super Enzo for Lemans. Whats this one for ? Don't really see the point of building it becos as usual they will not try to beat the Mclaren F1 speed records.

They know how to make a car that they consider better than the Enzo..... so they are going to make it. Not really odd to me.
