gis: i have about 25 die-cast on schumacher. the honda s2000 is from maisto which i don't think its that good. there wasn't even a photoetched part of the brake caliper. but i following the old adage "what you pay is what you get". as i said before i like to build my own road cars.

cho: its just a sony 3.2MP. whats f-stop? as you can see i'm not an expert photographer, hence i got a point and shoot camera. maybe i'll go up a bit and get a cannon g4 or get a SLR.

chaos: hot wheels are alright. i've got all of schumacher cars since 2000 and one
or two from previous years.

sfd: yeah those exoto are mad. they pay so much attention to detail.

I want those models from Exoto that SFD posted. those are nice!
Have any of you ever seen the resin models? They are pretty cool, but super expensive.

Those EXOTO models have great detailing, but I know of a man who gives his models the same level of detailing... in 1:43! He's a Frenchman named Jacques Brauer and he uses white metal kits like AMRs (which are very good kits with already lots of detail) as his starting point. He builds chassis', suspensions and makes sure that all doors, hoods, bonnets and everything can open. I'll say it again, this is in 1:43!!

Here are some pictures from his website (http://jacques.brauer.free.fr)

On a whole different level, Burago's aren't that well detailed, but usually the shape of the body is pretty good. So they can be used for upgrading. There are even kits available for that.

wow,thats amazing for 1:43 scale

the burage ones, your rightt he shape of them are ok,but when u look around them and open the doors, there is a lot of plastic on it and it doesnt feel metal really IMO

haha
TT you don't have to be that drastic. 1:10 isn't as big as you think it is

does anyone know of a japanese master modeler? he charges $3000USD a kit. he specializes in 1:43 f1 kits. i love seeing the work from the masters, i envy them.

Sounds like you had a nice day! Drooling over cars and girls... LOL

stracing, can't think of the name of the Japanese modeller you mentioned, but it does ring a bell.
If you don't know this site already, I can highly resommend it: http://www.grandprixmodels.co.uk/index.html. It has an enormous database of about 18,000 kits and delivers worldwide. Be sure to check out his online magazine Four Small Wheels as well. It has very good reviews of models and good tips on model building.

Gis, you sound like you know the state of affaris over here in the UK...how much is an AutoArt car?? I saw a WRC Scoob for around £45, is that right?? I want the new Gallarado when it comes out! Are AutoArt good quality?? Sorry if that is a silly question, but the last time I had one, it was for X-mass, when I was around 10.
