So heres the update and I must say I'm not happy at all.

As some of you know I purchased this Enzo Ferrari in 1:18 scale from ferraristore.com, limited to a 100 pieces and made by BBR.
I was really expecting on getting this model, when the normal release was out for sale I had a hunch and thought FShop would release a limited edition on a leather base. After more than a year of waiting, I was rewarded when I recieved an email telling me it was gonna be released in a limited series of 99, which then turned out to be 100. Anyway, after a week of constantly checking fshop.com it was finally available for sale, purchased it with no problem. When it was delivered I was really happy to get to know I got number 001/100.
Then after a week or so, of it being delivered, I went to pick it up, and to my surprise the model wasn't in anything close to mint condition.
First of all the plexiglass came all dirty, with some weird paint in it, which in the end I didn't mind cause it could be cleaned up. But thats not it, it came with a loose part that is the fuel deposit thing where you put the hose when you're fillin up, then the engine compartment had a scratch, and the hood is bent, yes the metal is bent, and it had a drop of black paint that can't be removed.
So I came back home, and that same day I wrote to Fshop regarding this flaws or defects I found and asking them for a replacement of the model, just the model, not the base, not the plexiglass, not anything but the model itself, and they didn't answer, not in one whole week, but when I asked them about the model release they would only take a few hours to reply. So after seeing no answer, I wrote them again, and once again almost a whole week passed, and no reply, not even a reciept confirmation or anything. Because of this I wrote them once again, asking what was wrong and they replied the next day, saying they were sorry that "the model didn't meet my expectations" but they offered a full refund if I sent the model back (this is in their return policy) and that they couldn't replace it cause it was already sold out. I replied to them telling that its nothing but the same model as the regular BBR 1:18 Enzo, with only the presentation livery, and that they could get the replacement model from BBR, as those aren't sold out, and once again the reply I got is they could only offer the refund. Being a collector, losing a piece like this isnt an option, even if I got my money back, that isn't my way of thinking, its not what I want.
To wrap this up I must say I'm not happy at all with what Fshop offered me, first of all because when paying 400 dlls for a model plus shipping, I expect something flawless, and if it had any problem I expect it could easily be replaced. And also because IMO they're offering a poor customer service, offering a very simple solution, not to help me, but just to solve their problem.
Their articles are great, but their customer service not even close.

Here are the pictures with the errors circled in yellow.

The detail is awesome, too bad it was flawed

I have one question however. A month ago, I saw an SLR model which was similar in that the engine bay had real metal wires in the engine bay etc... it cost about 400chf ($300). However, I think it was sold...

It was then replaced with an old Mercedes which had the same attention to detail with incredible detail in the engine bay, the multi spoke rims had spokes the thickness of a hair and so on (Dani and wutputt saw it when I showed them around Geneva).

Anyway... since you mentioned BBR in the topic, I checked around on google, but could not find an 1/18 model of the SLR, not as a BBS model or anything else, that was prices like this with the same attention to detail. I saw some models prices less then $200, but the engine bay was basically just one large plastic piece where the wires were etched out of the plastic... not very cool...

Got any info on this particular model? What manufacturer etc? I might go ask the model shop, but if anyone has more info, please share

To me the black paint is is virtually invisible - I can't really see it in the picture submitted and I am sure it is not going to be noticed by the ordinary guy unless he is told about. The same goes for the bent metal.

I think the gas cap can be glued back.

I think your idea of trading it would mean that you lose the 1/100 as isnt it stamped on the car or on the leather case?

I think you should just keep the car and enjoy it as is. It looks beautiful to me ....

yeah, you're right on the paint, maybe a bit small, but still a flaw, then the gas cap, right once again, I can glue it back, but the bent is big enough for it to be noticed, it really is, and the scratch, well its unrepairable, when you get them alltogether, its not quite something to enjoy...
If it only had the fuel cap, and the paint drop, I wouldn't complain even a bit...

Dont sweat it man! Few days later you will not care about it ... I bought a couple 1/43s that had some extra plastic around the headlights - they didnt cut it tightly enough. I was annoyed for a day or so and wrote to the owner of Replicarz from who I bought it and he instantly offered to replace it at his cost. But then I said forget it... such flaws are too minor to bother about in the long run

You got 1/100 and that is special if you are a numbers man! So keep as is and Im sure it will be the pride of your collection...

Cheers

I get your point, but I like my things to be perfect, and I'm not happy until they're the way I want. I've even replaced some years old stuff that I'm not happy with. Like I said if it only were the cap and the paint, it would be nothing, but the scratch and the bent are too much.
I'll solve it one way or another, I'll keep you guys informed... of course I will keep 001, thats first priority.

and thnx for the suggestions...

Haha, no way
Ferrari shop customer service told me the model couldn't be replaced cause they were sold out, pretty good reason
guess what ?? Today the model is re available for purchase... their customer service is more than poor...
oh and just yesterday I recieved an email from them, telling me once again they could only refund

That sucks ... that's really poor customer service. I must have been lucky to buy three cars w/o issues - thank god!!!
